Privacy Policy

Forest Software, LLC ("Forest Software", "we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use RoLive, including the RoLive Discord bot, this website, and the web dashboard (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Discord Account Information: your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar, received when you sign in with Discord. We do not receive your email address, your Discord password, or your private messages.
  • Server Information: the list of Discord servers you belong to and your permission level in them (used only to show you the servers you can manage), and, for servers where RoLive is installed, per-server configuration such as the server ID, channel IDs, and the Roblox game or group IDs being tracked.
  • Session Data: an encrypted session cookie holding the identity above together with your Discord access token, kept for up to 7 days. A theme preference is stored in your browser's localStorage.
  • Payment Information: when paid plans are available, billing details are processed securely by third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers.

For clarity: the game and group statistics RoLive displays are publicly available data fetched from Roblox. They describe games and groups, not people, and are not personal information about you.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
  • Authenticate you and show your manageable servers on the dashboard.
  • Operate stat trackers in servers where RoLive is installed.
  • Process payments for subscriptions (when paid plans are available).
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse or legal obligations.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited data with:

  • Vendors/Service Providers: such as website hosting (e.g., Vercel), Discord (authentication and bot operation), database hosting for bot configuration (e.g., MongoDB Atlas), and payment processors (e.g., Stripe). Requests to Roblox's public APIs contain game and group IDs, never your personal information.
  • Legal/Compliance: if required by law, court order, or to respond to infringement notices.
  • Business Transfers: if Forest Software is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS).
  • The session cookie is encrypted and httpOnly; your Discord access token is never exposed to page scripts or third parties.
  • No RoLive passwords exist; authentication is delegated to Discord's OAuth.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

Data Retention

  • Website sessions: the website keeps no account database. Your session expires after at most 7 days, or immediately when you sign out, and with it everything the website holds about you.
  • Server configuration: retained while RoLive is in the server; removed when the bot is removed or on request.
  • Payment records: when billing exists, retained as required by law and for accounting purposes.

We may retain certain data as required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or for dispute resolution.

Your Privacy Rights

  • GDPR (EU/EEA Users): You have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • CCPA/CPRA (California Users): You have the right to request to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (Discord likewise requires its users to be at least 13). Users between 13 and 18 must have parental or guardian consent.

International Users

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer. If you are located outside the U.S., note that your data may be subject to U.S. laws.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you on this website or within the Services. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
